Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-based, Exciting, Recorded… is easy… or is it?

Uses of SMART Goals or Objectives

Remember the SMART approach is a TEST to be carried out after writing the goals to test its validity and viability – it is not an order to be followed or a constraint to be applied when developing goals or objectives.

SMART Goals can be used in a wide range of setting including – personal growth, performance management, project management, program management, appraisals, personal development plans and personal learning logs etc

Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Time
Objectives should specify what they need to achieve You should be able to measure whether you are meeting the objectives or not Are the objectives you set, achievable and attainable? Can you realistically achieve the objectives with the resources you have? When do you want to achieve the set objectives?
