How do you find externally accredited trainers?
In 2008 TrainerBase launched the Certified Learning Practitioner (CLP) standard covering independent and freelance trainers. A unified standard which looks at personal, design, delivery and commercial skills. THE standard for purchasers of training to look for in their providers.

Update – ok so we have been successful and passed the desk and portfolio review
Update #2 – the 20 minute peer assessed training session is now complete – boy was that harder than I expected. Now awaiting the outcome – a provisional pass but awaiting finalisation after submission of my reflective log on the experience.
Update #3 – well I have today had confirmation – I have been successful in the achievment of the CLP status – see the TrainerBase CLP page for details
UPDATE 2010 Due to changes within the the trade association Learning Practitioners Association (LPA)and its subsequent closure, we opted not to go for a renewal assessment. The CLP standard is now managed by Trainerbase, although there is some doubt if this will continue.
The Standard For Learning Practitioners
The TrainerBase Standard is a set of principles to which a Learning Practitioner commits and by which their competence and behaviours are measured in respect to Personal, Operational and Commercial undertakings.
The Certified Learning Practitioner undertakes three different learning related roles within the execution of their duties. These roles are:

Changes to TrainerBase:
TrainerBase, the website for finding trainers, has become one of the core products of the Learning Practitioners Association.
The Learning Practitioners’ Association is for all individuals substantially engaged in or actively working towards a career in consultancy, design, development, and delivery of training or learning interventions whose recipients are outside statutory education.
