The Four Intelligences of the Business Mind

The Four Intelligences of the business mind – by Valeh Nazemoff

This is a short (115 page) book, but it packs some powerful punches. The first truly practical business book applying learning from neuroscience to everyday business.

Across seven chapters Nazemoff takes us on a fast paced journey:

  • Your brain, mind and business transformation
  • Finance Intelligence
  • Customer Intelligence
  • Data intelligence
  • Mastermind Intelligence
  • Pattern Recognition
  • Strategy mapping

Your brain, mind and business transformation

In this section the author explores what these are and how they interrelate. We are also taken on a brief, but comprehensive introduction to neuroscience. Perhaps more importantly, how this can used for business success.

Throughout the book are mini case studies. These case studies put the content of the book into organizational context. These are short and valuable indicators and examples of the approaches proposed.

The book highlights four top level intelligences. The author refines these ideas further. For example under “financial intelligence” there is: Predictive Intelligence, Risk Intelligence and Business Intelligence. For me, Risk Intelligence is one that is often ignored. This can be critical for the success or failure of any business or project.

Strategy Mapping

The book concludes with a section called Strategy Mapping.  The shows how to use the four intelligences in traditional business tools and techniques. For example SWOT Analysis, RACI, KPIs etc.

The Four Intelligences of the Business Mind” is one of the best books I have read on neuroscience in business. It connects current neuroscience findings with business approaches applicable to all involved in business. Applicable if you are a business owner, a manager or a consultant/ coach. It will help you to improve the performance of the organization.

The Four Intelligences of the Business Mind – Worth a read.
