CPP project and assignment guide

For many CIPD students on the CPP (or other qualification) this forms part of your first written assignment. Also for many of you this will be your first assignment in an academic setting for some time. While we cannot write the assignment for you this and other pages here on the RapidBI site are here to help.

Structure: – follow the guidelines given by your provider as there are variances.

Look at what the assignment is trying to do – it is trying to get you to look at the role of HR from a strategic position – therefore you need to review HR in the context of what is and will be happening to the company/ organisation in terms of the people resource – availability, skills, retention etc.

PESTLE is the “analysis” that you do on the company as a whole and what is and will impact it – then review the HR function in the CONTEXT of the findings from the PESTLE – for example a PESTLE analysis will show that some sectors are currently being impacted by the immigration legislation – so hat are you as HR doing to manage this difficulty – change of talent pool, training, recruitment from different populations etc?

SWOT is a mix of the external factors (OT) from your PESTLE and the internal factors SW from your PRIMO-F analysis.

Remember to add the fact sheets and this site to your references. – including the date accessed.

See the:

CIPD fact sheets for details SWOT analysis & PESTLE analysis or the

RapidBI pages of SWOT analysis and PESTLE analysis

If you get stuck remember the CIPD community pages – do a thorough search as you may be surprised – many of the questions that you are asking yourself have been asked and answered – and they are there!

Note – These templates are designed to complement the CIPD fact sheets – they are not designed as standalone tools.  For more information please visit www.cipd.co.uk or the relevant pages here at RapidBI

Please quote this site as reference for all course work.
