Ten top training tools or techniques that work:

  1. Outcomes, outcomes, outcomes – clarity is everything
  2. Manage state transitions – its all very well knowing where we need to be, but managing ’emotional reactions’ is the deal breaker
  3. Positive emotion increases learning – people learn best when they succeed – not when they fail – the best learning does NOT come from making mistakes
  4. Question, question, question, question – we learn through understanding – so do what it takes to understand
  5. Designing in the right place – the environment in which you work is everything
  6. Eating and sleeping – helps…
  7. Make it bigger – the bigger the task often the better we perform
  8. Less is more – keep it simple – make it no more difficult than it needs to be
  9. Listen to yourself – you know the answer – but you have to trust your judgement
  10. If it’s not working do something different – self belief is good – but it has its limits, do a sanity check every so-often
