Infection Control training for  educational environments including schools is an important part of our responsibilities to the people in our care.

Training in infection control and hygiene control is important CPD learning activity.

One factor which is in the control of all staff in educational based environments is the transmission of bacteria and virus through cross contamination.

Ongoing CPD and initial training for an ever changing workforce can be a challenge. But we have a cost effective solution.

One option is to have your own trainers. Train up to 6 people on the materials and processes you need, on your site, to train your people for at least 1 year.

This is the ideal package for senior staff in larger schools and educational environments who may be called upon to deliver infection control awareness training to managers and their staff.

Unlike many other training providers, we will ensure that your trainers not only have coaching and presentation materials, posters PowerPoint slides etc, but they will have their own set of UV or black light training aids. This will help to ensure the training they provide is highly memorable and practical. We will work with your people to create a life like scenario for you and your people – learning is so much more FUN and POWERFUL if it is directly related to your environment. This is a practical subject and training needs to reflect this. Just giving the theory is not enough. All your people need to experience the issues of cross contamination and the solutions for themselves.

Inset Days and Twilight Sessions – hygiene control for schools

Increasingly in Schools and other special education environments there is an increased need to protect staff from potential infections. Training and education is required for Hygiene Control in Schools. 

We offer a practical twilight session for your staff. Teaching and support staff. A recent NUT health and safety briefing has highlighted the needs for ensuring advice is given on appropriate hygiene procedures which will help to prevent the spread of blood-borne viruses such as HIV and hepatitis A, B and C and conditions such as dysentery. This guidance is aimed at ALL teachers in ALL schools. This workshop meets the requirements of this briefing. The briefing is based on the government Public Health England (PHE) in its guidance document “Infection Control in Schools and other Childcare Settings” – note we only cover in-school environments. trips to farms etc can be covered additionally.

This 1.5hr practical session  covers:

• Infections, what they are, how they spread, how to control.
• Use of PPE
• The Cycle or Chain of infection and how to break it
• Universal precautions
• Hand wash technique
• Waste management
• Training to WHO standards
• PD training certificate

For larger groups (whole school) We can also offer interactive talks covering the Cycle of infection and how to break it, How infections spread in schools, use of PPE. A practical demonstration of how germs spread around the room. These sessions are also suitable for  nursery or childminders.

Prices and training options
We offer three Infection Control Training Programmes –

1. A 2 hr session with your people, the cost of this is currently just £299 (for  up to 15 people) (no free UV training kit left with candidates)
2. A 1.5hr session for teachers and teaching support staff is just £299 (for up to 15 people) (no free UV training kit left with candidates)
   1. A 1hr talk for teachers and support staff is just £250- no limit on numbers  (no free UV training kit left with candidates)
3. A 1 day Infection Control Train-the-trainer, where we will work with one or more of your people, assess your workplace and work with you to design a suitable in-house programme. Supporting you to deliver the training.
   The cost of this is just £599 (up to 6 people) and includes your own Hand Hygiene Validation Kit.

Top up your supplies with our basic kits:

Kit 1 – 200ml of UV lotion and a pocket UV source for just £25 each

Kit 2 – 5x 200ml of UV glow lotion and UV hand cabinet for just £500

Kit 3 – 10x 200ml UV Glow lotion, UV hand cabinet and 3 portable UV sources for disperse groups

Each 200ml will be enough for 40 students

Be careful of using cheap LED UV sources, as they give out too much visible light, reducing the effect.

Our UV torches take 4x AA batteries (not supplied) COSHH sheets available on request. Our lotions are considered non-irritant and low allergenic. (very low risk of reaction on unbroken skin)
