Google Chrome – Is it really faster?
Ok, so when it comes to IT and office technology I am a bit of a luddite. I like my tech to work and be compatible with our customers software.
This means at the moment we run windows, and have stuck with windows XP as it is on the whole reliable, and when vista and others came along, the drivers for some expensive hardware were not available.
But as XP only supports older versions of IE we have moved to Firefox & chrome.
But Chrome is getting slower. I have had to uninstall it and re-install it several times. But even with one window open it appears to run several “instances”

Why so many for just one window?
This is supposed to be one of the fastest browsers?
Even firefox and IE use less memory & less processes for the same page.
Just goes to show…even the supposedly “fast” software and apps are not efficiently written anymore.
I could go for mac – but again some of our more expensive hardware just will not be compatible… plus I do not like their controlling style of management – but love the support they appear to offer.
