This graphic I discovered has some interesting points – but I am not convinces about the must have 1:50 ratio. This will all depend on the nature of your business, what your staff turnover is like, and most importantly what you want/ need the HR people to do that managers cannot do as part of their day-to-day work
Certainly at 50 employees it is starting to make sense to have a dedicated resource, but 2 people for 100… I am not convinced.
A useful “rule of thumb” – yes – a “rule”….NO!
