Research carried out March 2009 by www.RapidBI.com using information obtained from the provider’s public websites.
Local colleges also offer this course however it is worth confirming what you get for your money as the offer varies from centre to centre. (as does the quality of delivery – check out the CIPD community pages for specifics including the pass rates, Materials included etc).

RapidBI do not recommend any provider over another and recommend that you contact the CIPD to check that a provider is still an approved centre.

This information is provided as is and in good faith and is correct at the time of writing March 2009.

Please note

We are aware that other providers also offer Train the Trainer programmes including: CTP (Certificate in Training Practice) that are accredited with other professional bodies i.e. the IITT & BCS - this is new, when the market has settled we may look at a similar comparison table.

For those of you looking to complete a CTP train the trainer course - while we do not offer training ourselves, we do have many resources on this site which will help you in completing your assignments. – add us to your bookmarks! – especially management articles and mini management articles

UPDATE No new candidates are being accepted onto CIPD CTP courses from January 2010, as the programme has been superceeded by the new level 3 course: Certificate in Learning & Development Practice (CLP or CDLP)

Hi there,

I’ve recently attended and completed a London CTP programme with a provider called Cullen Scholefield who were genuinely really great.
Using the criteria above… they are an approved CIPD centre, operate in 5 locations around the country, the CTP covers 10 training days, locations are flexible, the candidates choose the workshop days themselves, I had a personal tutor assigned to me, open learning modules were included, as well as CIPD core text. I had a guaranteed pass if I attended the workshops and completed my workbooks. The online support and materials were great. The duration of programme for me was 12 months, but you can get up to 18 months of support if needed. Cullen Scholefield do offer in company programmes. The cost to me (well, my company was £2,500 and there were no hidden costs, but a really good investment I think (and know!). Their contact number is 0800 0185 052.
I hope that this helps with your research, I highly recommend Cullen Scholefield and if you want any further information then please give me a shout. It’s probably well worth speaking to them though if you’re still looking.
Many thanks,
Charlie Parks
