Hi Robin
I see and know where you are coming from.
The original model suggested that to understand we needed to have ‘done’ the activity by practising and having the underpinning knowledge.
It is one of those chicken & egg situations.
In cognitive learning theories true ‘understanding’ is one of the last stages of learning. Of course we could add ‘understand’ at the beginning as to understand what is expected.
